Frequently Asked Questions
Is YouOn® Live only for professionals?
Even though many professionals in the area of video and television use the platform, YouOn® Live was conceived so it could be used by anyone.
The only requirements are an Internet Connection (cable, wifi, 3G) a video camera and a computer for the encoding of the video signal. YouOn® Live will take care of the rest.1
Am I able to integrate the YouOn® Live player in my website?
It is possible to integrate YouOn® Live's player in any website. YouOn® Live's player provides the integration code, a tool to massify your event: the event can be broadcast through hundreds of different websites.2
How many users are able to watch my event simultaneously?
YouOnLive uses the YouOn® CDN, a worldwide video distribution network that ensures that millions of users can watch the same video simultaneously while maintaining the quality and performance of the reproduction.3
Is it possible to restrict access to my event?
Yes, it is possible to restrict access to your event through a login and password.4
Can I broadcast in 16:9 and HD?
16:9 aspect ratio transmissions are possible. Regarding HD transmissions, they are also possible with a suitable upload speed and video encoding hardware.5
What is the delay on the transmission?
The YouOn® CDN, our global video distribution network that distributes the YouOn® Live video signal, guarantees a minimum delay. It is virtually impossible for a delay-free transmission due to the number of processes that take place during the broadcast. The delay can vary and it is the sum of:
. the time it takes the image to reach the computer/encoding hardware from the camera;
. the time it takes to encode the signal;
. the time it takes for the transmission of the signal to our Datacenter (depending on the Internet connection speed);
. final user's Internet connection;
Nevertheless, this delay may only amount to a few seconds and the important thing is to assure that the transmission doesn't stop.6
What is the minimum connection speed required at the place of the event?
A minimum upload connection of 1mbps is recommended. We have made several transmissions with 500kbps speeds, however. In these cases, if the process is properly optimized it is possible to assure good image quality.7
Is it possible to monetize live with publicity?
Yes. Through our banner, footnote info and video publicity solutions it is possible to monetize your live transmissions.8
Is the presence of a YouOn® technician at the event necessary?
No. We provide all the information required and test the solution before the event to avoid the necessity of a YouOn® technician at the place of the event.9
